Emily is a recent graduate of Barnard College from Baltimore, MD. She majored in Middle Eastern Studies and minored in Spanish and Latin American studies. Since 2012, she has worked as a staff member for Artistic Dreams International, an arts education nonprofit, focusing in particular on developing the organization’s Harlem-based programs.
Other experiences include serving as an associate editor and writer at the Columbia Daily Spectator throughout college, and writing a column about intersections of art and daily life for the A&E section in the spring of 2014.
Emily is passionate about writing, art, education, and the importance of creativity as it relates to intercultural understanding and social justice. She hopes to cultivate her own creative pursuits and support others in doing the same in all of her future studies and career.
