SYNOPSIS

There’s a mythology to creativity, and we need to move past it.

There’s a mythology to creativity. In this short video I did for Creative Oklahoma, I discuss the origins of this creative mythology, it’s evolution and it’s need for replacement from an empirically-based model of creativity. The core message of this video is also found in the opening of my book The Myths of Creativity: The Truth About How Innovative Companies and People Generate Great Ideas (forthcoming in October). We need to move past the myths surrounding creativity and move toward a better understanding of how innovation happens.
