Gabrielle was the Director of Curiosity at The Future Project, an education start-up that turns High Schoolers' passions into projects. This means she leads the human factors research and development process as it forms our product and service design. She has a master's from the Harvard Ed School where she studied the psychology of creativity and universal design for learning, and prototyped a variety of ed-tech innovations in the Harvard Innovation lab, winning grants and entering pitch competitions across campus. She worked with a team at the Harvard ArtScience labs and MIT researching and consulting with a new course based on design-thinking and innovation and with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop launching a project on Latino Families, new media, and digital learning. Prior to going to graduate school, she worked on a developmental psychology research team at the Yale Child Study Center and lived in an urban charter school. Additionally to working at The Future Project currently, she consults with a local High School to help teachers build and integrate a maker space and design-thinking lab in their school. From these varied perspectives on development, education, and innovation, she harnesses a deep enthusiasm for unpacking and building what learning can and should look like in years to come. This coupled with the child poet and creative non-fiction writer within her brings her to want to describe all the small, glorious, and often under-looked discoveries in the world.
