SYNOPSIS

THNKR is a new YouTube channel from @radical.media, a global studio that creates some of the world’s most innovative content across all forms of media. The company develops, produces and distributes television, feature films, commercials, music programming, smartphone & tablet applications, digital content and design. The company has been honored with an Academy Award®, numerous Emmys®, a Golden Globe®, Grammys®, Webbys®, The Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Communication Design, and two Palme D’Or’s at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Welcome to THNKR’s column in The Creativity Post! We’re so glad to have this space to share with you the people, stories, and thinking that will challenge your perceptions and perhaps even change your mind! THNKR was created to infuse edu-programming with new energy and ideas. Our current education model doesn’t put enough emphasis on creativity in learning, a necessary component to student engagement. It’s no secret that the more engaged a student is with the information presented to him or her, the more likely he or she is to grasp and retain difficult and complex concepts, leading to improved reasoning and critical thinking skills. With the rise of the Internet and digital media, much of our culture has progressed and changed at lightning speed. A renewed perspective on how we educate ourselves must follow suit. THNKR hopes to fill in some of the gaps by providing high-quality, thought-provoking content that spotlights creativity across all fields—from oration to science to the arts and sports. While THNKR is no replacement for the classroom experience, we do hope our content provides added enrichment and piques the interest of our viewers enough so they can continue exploring and researching the topics we touch on long after a video has ended.
