Iman Rasti, Ph.D.

Iman earned his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Liverpool, England in 2012. He served as English Department Chair at multiple colleges and taught at graduate and undergraduate levels. After more than a decade of teaching and researching in higher education, Iman decided to shift his career to work with children five years ago. Since then, he has worked as a middle school English and humanities teacher, English department chair, mindfulness and EF coach, and teacher mentor in the USA and England. Currently, Iman teaches humanities at Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, NY where he is also the Co-Director of Wellness Initiative and one of the members of RCS Innovation Cohort. Iman has been trained in the Torrance Incubation Model where he integrates high-level creative thinking into his content areas in order to enhance student engagement and intrinsic motivation. Iman has published several academic articles and presented at national and international conferences on topics such as text linguistics, wellness, creative teaching and learning, and holistic executive functioning.
